He graduated with BE in Mining Engineering from the University of Jodhpur , Rajasthan in 1968. He obtained First Class Mines Manager Certificate in 1972 and obtained Mine Surveyors Certificate in 1970. He is a Registered Qualified Person (RQP) – since 1988. He is a fellow of Institution of Engineers and Life member of Mining Engineers’ Association of India. He has total experience in Mining industry. He worked as Mines Manager with M/s. Gogte Minerals at their Redi Iron Ore Mines. During this period, he got the mines under water and carried out controlled blasting near residential areas.

He worked as Senior Manager and later as Deputy General Manager (Mines) with Associated Stone Industries (Kotah), Ramganjmandi for their marble mining/cutting/ polishing unit at Kankroli and later at Ramganjmandi Limestone mines. He Worked as General Manager (Mines) with M/s. Gogte Minerals, Belgaum, and (A company dealing in Iron Ore , Manganese, Dolomite and Silica Sand etc.) Managed all their operations right from Prospecting of minerals & getting of M.L., till shipment of finished goods.

He worked with Gujarat Ambuja Cement Ltd. at their Himachal Unit as overall In charge for all the activities of Kashlog Limestone Mines since October 1992. He had planned, executed and operated the above mine for 3.3 Million Tonnes of Limestone. The Mines is situated at 1500 Mtrs. above Sea Level in fragile Himalayas. Responsible for liasoning related to all mining activities with Centre and State Governments. Kashlog Mine is one of the lowest cost producing limestone Mines. He was involved in flyrock and ground vibration reduction, inventory reduction, Slope stabilization. He was looking after HES activities for plant and mines. During this period, the unit got ISO 14001 certification and ISO 9002 certification.

He Worked with M/s. Ambuja Cements Ltd. as Asst. Vice President (Mines) for their new green field project at Marwar Mundwa Dist-Nagaur, Rajasthan since March 2006 till retirement on 28th Feb 2009.
